For this project, all students were given a 'series" of three books by the same author. This particular series follows the character Frank Bascombe in the three books The Sportswriter, Independence Day, and Be Mine. For this cover series, the goal was to show the aging of Frank Bascombe and how his perspective on life has changed with each different installment of the series. Thus, the man gets older with each book. The image treatment gives the book a more introspective, surreal, and contemporary feeling, which is a repeating theme throughout the series.
